Target Population:

Mid-Life African Americans

• Nutrition Education Class on "Food Label Reading" when both cooking at home and eating outside of the home.

• Activity was undertaken as Partner for the "Healthy Brain Championship" Workshops.

2010 National Children & Youth Garden Symposium "The Vitality of Gardens: Energizing The Learning Environment" in Pasadena California.

Target population:

Attendees who participate in the only national symposium that explores the positive impact of gardens in the lives of children and youth.

• Poster session presentation, "Food Web Mobile & Activity Guide Tool Kit."

• Activity was undertaken to share gardening and science focused activities designed for 4th , 5th, and 6th graders.

Target Population:

70 Stakeholders from around the Southern California Region.

• Participant of the Los Angeles Urban-Rural Roundtable. In September 2009, Mayor Villaraigosa launched a Food Policy Task Force charged with identifying ways in which the City of Los Angeles could support the regional food economy and improve access to healthy food in underserved communities.
